Match Report

Match report Eltham CC Vs Orpington CC

An extra fixture was obtained by Pete "The" Fish against an Orpington team which was a blend of youth and experience, and who were a pleasure to play against. The club were well drilled and the youngsters (good bowlers all of them we noticed!) were polite and had not been trained to sledge at every opportunity. A credit to Orpington.

Eltham on the other hand had their own internal problems - the "Pickle for Favours" scandal, involving Matt Bulpitt, will surely rumble on, and it is only lucky that the Pakistan "Spot Fixing" issue has cropped up at the same time, or our Social Secretary's name would surely be dragged through the tabloids. And if they then get a whif of the "Benchman's Nuts" scandal of the previous week, well, it doesn't bear thinking about.
