Match Report

Match report Eltham CC Vs Old Wimbledonians CC

Last home match of the season - let's make it a good one!

I hope so !!!!! It's been a troublesome week again !

After 4 days of worrying why the opposition weren't replying to my emails, I discovered that their Fixture Secretary was on business in Canada and was struggling to put together a team. And so, with a huge apology, they dropped out this afternoon!!

Left to find an alternative fixture, I was successful almost immediately with a team with possibly the longest name that we've ever played - Chipstead Coulsdon and Walcountians CC 4th XI (I stand to be corrected if anyone knows better)

Let's hope for a quiet Friday, and a dry Saturday!!

So much for a quiet Friday !!, opposition have dropped out, so I'm searching again

I have found a fixture --- against Old Wimbledonians 'Poets XI' -- If this one falls through, I'm not sure my response will be particularly poetical !!!

Now for the weather....good I hope!!

"For the rain it raineth every day" Shakespeare I believe.

A good match to finish the season at FRC, with one big partnership allowing the opposition to compile a competitive total and Matt taking what we believe was his first 5 wicket haul. Eltham then fell slightly short in the run chase after losing wickets at key points when they tried to push on.
