Match Report

Match report Eltham CC Vs Gravesend CC

A resounding second win of the season for Eltham in a 40 over match. Batting first, Eltham saw decent knocks from Swain and Mir, capped off by a maiden fifty for the club by Pad, who batted really well. Grrrrrreat mate! Although we didn't quite make 200, the senior players in the team (which is to say, most of the team) felt that would be a more than reasonable score.

And so it proved to be, with the Gravesend top order unable to score at more than 2 an over for most of the innings. Skipper Bill was in inspired form with his slow off-breaks, picking up 4 wickets, with a couple of wickets apiece for Tanveer and Bernie. Ricky bowled economically - 6 overs for 6 runs - with Colin standing up to the stumps and the openers unwilling to use their feet - and this really set the game up for the later bowlers.

Special mention to the Gravesend fielders - there were three VERY good catches and one special one in the Eltham innings - Omer was shaking his head in disbelief at the catch he got out to!

Another good friendly game - well played all.
